Goal

SisAl Pilot Project brings together industrial partners and institutions from Europe and South Africa. It aims at a shift from today’s carbothermic process for Si production to a new, environmentally and economically sustainable European technology using secondary Al and Si raw materials to produce Si metal and Si-alloys, along with metallurgical grade alumina and high purity alumina.

Our role

TeSMet is performing research work on the alkaline and acidic leaching of secondary materials with the aim of precipitating alumina hydrates suitable for alumina electrolysis cells and High Purity Alumina.
